SCBA Bee School 2021 – February 1 through March 8

When: Consecutive Mondays starting February 1 through March 8

This year’s bee school will be held electronically through Zoom starting on Monday, February 1st from 7pm – 9 pm and for 6 consecutive Mondays through March 8th.

The cost is $30 per Zoom link (which means your whole family can participate for one price).

The recommended book for this year is “The Beekeeper’s Handbook, 4th Edition” by Diana Sammataro. You can order the book from Amazon [ link ].

  • Introduction to Beekeeping
  • The colony, organization, and life cycle of the honeybee
  • Equipment needed to get started
  • How to assemble equipment
  • Seasonal hive management of the colonies
  • Pests and diseases of the bees
  • Harvesting and processing honey and other hive products

Apiary Inspector Lewis Cauble will be presenting the module on Pests and Diseases of Bees. If you have Pesticide Certification, you can get Pesticide credits for attending the bee school.
