Here are some pictures from the event. There were about 535 2nd graders that came by the booth (plus adults). The kids were pretty interested. One child raked her finger through the sample frame of honey to get a taste and there ended up being honey everywhere (as we all know happens!).

The Surry County Beekeepers will be helping out at the AG Adventures again this year and we need volunteers to come help us share the love of beekeeping to elementary students. Surry County Schools offers elementary age children educational and exciting agriculture field trip opportunity! This is a great time for students to gain hands-on experiential learning about agriculture and where their food and fiber comes from.
We’ll be at Veterans Memorial Park located at 691 W. Lebanon Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030 [ map ] from about 8:00 am to about 2:00 pm. To volunteer or to find out more, please contact Eugene Brown at (276) 251-1217.
