A note from Helen Baldwin with the Ashe County Beekeepers. If you are interested in helping, let Eugene or Paul know.
A quick howdy to relay a request from NCSBA regarding the centennial:
The Forsyth County Beekeepers Association is hosting the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association (NCSBA) 2017 Summer Conference in Winston-Salem on July 13 – 15. It is also the 100th Anniversary of the NCSBA, so we are trying to make it special. I am gathering items for the Silent Auction and wanted to invite the other chapters to participate by donating an item. All proceeds go to the Apiculture Science Fund at NCSU. Fundraising efforts for the Apiculture Science Fund operate under the auspices of the North Carolina Agricultural Foundation, Inc. a 501(c)3 non-profit, tax id 56-6049304. Proceeds from this auction support beekeeping education, research, and outreach at NC State University.
Another way to support the Apiculture Science Fund is to donate directly to it. If you choose this option, please let me know how much so we can keep track of it. Individuals can also contribute.
Dr. Tarpy and his colleagues are doing a wonderful job at NCSU, and the Entomology Dept at NCSU has recently been ranked #5 worldwide! Please show your beekeeping support with either an item for the silent Auction or a direct donation.
