One of the goals of the Surry County Beekeepers Bee Yard is to start raising local queens that are better suited to beekeepers in our area. The bee yard is also a place to mentor new beekeepers and to gives SCBA the opportunity to do workshops on special topics like raising queens. Bee yard supporters have already started the process of raising queens and will be creating and hosting a workshop this spring where members can get some good hands-on experience in the process.

If you think you might be interested in attending the workshop, come to this meeting to learn more about it. Also, you can learn more about what’s already going on in the further adventures of the SCBA bee yard. And as always, come for the fellowship and some advice if you need it.
